The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment through organized instruction and supervised practice to first or second assist the surgeon in the operating room. The intraoperative activities of the RN first assistant must be supervised by a surgeon.



Qualifications:

Because you re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That s why you ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

  • Licensure: Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years intraoperative experience.
  • Other: Documentation of proficiency in perioperative nursing practice as scrub and circulating nurse.
  • Preferred Certifications: CNOR is preferred.
