Collaborates with the Vice President of Mission Services to plan, develop, and evaluate initiatives that integrate Ministry mission and values into the decisions and day-to-day operations of Mercy Health System. Director of mission services will facilitate mission advancement and ministry formation for Mercy Health Springfield Communities; including but not limited to offering formation for leaders, co-workers, physicians, and board members as well as the coordination of memorials and celebrations and other activities as requested. The director will support other ministry leaders by developing programs that advance the Mission of Mercy with an emphasis on Catholic identity, Mercy heritage, Catholic Social Teaching, stewardship of resources and a spirit of collaboration. - Education: Masters degree in mission services or a commitment to work toward this degree is required. Masters degree in theology, ethics, healthcare administration or education is acceptable.
- Experience: Five years healthcare experience; demonstrated leadership at professional level.
- Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge with ability to communicate and apply the knowledge in the following areas: a. fundamental theology, ecclesiology, ministry, and those aspects of canon law pertinent to healthcare b. personal and organizational spirituality c. clinical, business, and organizational ethics, and social justice d. organizational dynamics, i.e., adult learning, group process, organizational culture, change management, healthcare management and financing, and collaboration e. community resources and development of collaborative partnerships within the community. Personal qualifications: a. mission/values congruence b. relationship building c. initiative d. team orientation e. self-confidence/assurance f. tolerance for ambiguity g. service orientation h. mature spirituality i. facilitation and presentation skills
